ABOUT THE SMART 50 PROGRAM:
  Who are the executives leading the smartest 50 organizations in Central Ohio? Since 2014, The Smart 50 Awards, presented by Hylant will recognize the top executives of the smartest companies in the region for their ability to effectively build and lead savvy organizations.

  All 50 winners will be honored as the Class of 2024 at a special celebration in August. All honorees will be asked to attend a special judging session in July to be interviewed by the judges and make their best pitch for one of three specialty awards that will be awarded for outstanding innovation, impact, and sustainability.

ELIGIBILITY:
  Eligible Smart 50 nominees must be a top executive of an organization with a physical office in the Central Ohio region. Specialty award winners will be recognized for Innovation, Impact and Sustainability.

  SECTION ONE: Provide basic contact information about the person who begins the nomination process. This individual will likely represent the nominated company or individual or be familiar with its operations.

ABOUT THE EVOLUTION OF MANUFACTURING AWARDS:
Do you know of a company on the cutting edge of manufacturing? The Evolution of Manufacturing Awards, presented by Alliance Industrial Solutions, recognizes Northern Ohio manufacturers and technology companies that have adapted to a global economy through improved operations, products or services.


Nominations will be accepted through Friday, December 23rd. Honorees will be announced in early January and recognized at the 2023 Evolution of Manufacturing Conference in February.

ELIGIBILITY:
Any business engaged in the manufacturing industry within the Northern Ohio region (Ashland, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne) is eligible for an Evolution of Manufacturing award. Consultants and nonprofit organizations are not eligible.

So tell us: How have your manufacturing operations evolved over the past decade? What challenges has your organization encountered as part of its growth and what steps have you taken to adapt to them? What makes your operations, product or management style deserving of a 2023 Evolution of Manufacturing Award?

ABOUT THE BUSINESS GROWTH AWARDS PROGRAM:
The Business Growth Awards recognize and honor businesses from our seven-county region that have achieved superior growth in sales and/or employment over the past five years. Our judging panel will take special consideration this year as it relates to the measure of growth post-pandemic. Companies who managed to persevere and achieve any growth during this uniquely challenging time are encouraged to apply.

*Business must be located in Summit, Medina, Stark, Portage, Wayne, Ashland or Holmes counties to participate.

Each qualifying nominee will be recognized for his or her company's success in one of three categories: Service, Manufacturing or Technology
Specialty awards will be presented within each category for: Highest Sales Growth, Greatest Employee Growth, and Best Overall Success Story.

The Entrepreneurial Spirit Award: Presented to a local business leader who best exemplifies entrepreneurship by leading a dynamic, growing organization and inspiring others through innovative business practices.

Hard Work Award: This will be a specialty category award, separate from the Business Growth Award. Nominees will not be awarded a Business Growth Award, and only eligible for one of the three category awards:

1. Innovation: One honoree that best demonstrates innovation during the COVID-19 crisis situation as it relates to creating new programs, services, and/or connecting to clients and/or the community.
2. Development: One honoree in the nonprofit realm that best demonstrates the ability to develop new revenue opportunities in response to restrictions on holding large traditional fundraising efforts/initiatives.
3. Best Overall Story: One honoree with the most compelling story of what they've done, how they've done it, and the overall impact of these efforts on the community and/or specific group of people during the COVID-19 crisis.


Nominations will be accepted through Friday, July 12, 2024.


Winners will be notified in August and formally honored at the Business Growth Awards at John S. Knight Center in October.

ABOUT THE FAMILY BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS:
The 2024 Family Business Achievement Awards will recognize organizations that have demonstrated best practices in keeping the business within the family for at minimum, one generational transfer (i.e. second-generation businesses or older).


ELIGIBILITY:
Eligible award nominees must have a minimum of two family members involved in the organization, and be privately held. A family member is defined as siblings, spouses, children, grandchildren, or cousins. They may be from a single generation or multi-generations. Must have a physical location in Northeast Ohio.

NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS:

The Pillar Award for Community Service was developed by Smart Business and Medical Mutual to honor businesses and individuals dedicated to making Northeast Ohio a better place to live. The program is designed to demonstrate the tie between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds and showcase best practices. It seeks to:
 - Publicize the importance of community service issues, such as philanthropy and volunteerism;
 - Share creative ideas about how companies have a positive impact in their communities;
 - Honor companies and individuals who go beyond the minimum expectation of community service.
